Non-refundable RoomKey24 bookings can be listed for resale from your Vault. You set the price, buyers can accept or make offers, and when it sells we transfer the reservation to their name. You keep 95% of the sale; the 5% resale fee is the only cost.

Three steps, no paperwork

Because RoomKey24 issued the original reservation, we can amend the guest name with the supplier ourselves. You never have to negotiate with the hotel.

  1. 1. List it from your Vault

    Open the booking in your Vault and choose Resell. Only non-refundable bookings with a future check-in date qualify; free-cancellation rates are simply cancelled for a refund instead.

  2. 2. Set your price, take offers

    Ask anything up to 100% of what you paid. Buyers can accept the asking price or make an offer; you can counter, and each negotiation runs for up to three rounds.

  3. 3. We transfer the reservation

    When a buyer pays, we update the guest name and email on the reservation with the supplier. 95% of the sale price is credited to your wallet as soon as the sale completes; the 5% resale fee is the only cost.

What qualifies

  • A RoomKey24 hotel booking on a non-refundable rate
  • Check-in date still in the future (listings expire at check-in)
  • The booking has not already been cancelled or refunded

What does not qualify

  • Free-cancellation or partially refundable rates (cancel those for a refund instead)
  • Bookings made on other sites (we can only transfer reservations we issued)
  • Stays that have already started

The only fee

Free to list. 5% resale fee on a completed sale. 95% of the sale price credited to your wallet.

Example: a stay you paid €400 for, listed and sold at €300, credits €285 to your wallet. If it does not sell before check-in, the listing expires and you pay nothing.

Payment is held by RoomKey24 until the name change has been attempted with the supplier, and the buyer is told the outcome by email before check-in.

How much does it cost to resell a booking on RoomKey24?

Listing is free. When a sale completes, a 5% resale fee is deducted from the sale price and the remaining 95% is credited to your RoomKey24 wallet. If the stay does not sell, you pay nothing.

How is the asking price decided?

You decide. The listing price can be anything from 1% up to 100% of the original booking price; it cannot exceed what you paid. Stays priced meaningfully below the current rate for the same room sell fastest, and buyers can also make offers, so a slightly higher asking price with room to negotiate is a common approach.

How does the name change work?

RoomKey24 issued the original reservation, so we can amend it. When a buyer pays, we send the new lead guest name and email to the supplier and the buyer receives a fresh confirmation. A small number of suppliers do not accept name changes; in that case the sale still completes, the buyer is told by email straight away and receives the booking reference with the original name on file together with check-in instructions, and you are still paid.

When do I get paid?

Your 95% share is credited to your wallet as soon as the sale completes, and you will see the sold status in your Vault. Wallet funds can be used towards future bookings or withdrawn according to the wallet terms.

Can a buyer cancel a resale stay?

No. A resold stay keeps its original non-refundable terms and is sold as final, which is what allows it to be priced below the going rate. Buyers see the property, dates, room type and original price before paying.

What if my stay doesn't sell before check-in?

The listing expires automatically at check-in and the booking stays yours. Because the rate was non-refundable, there is no charge for having listed it. Listing early gives a stay the best chance: a reservation listed a few weeks out has far more potential buyers than one listed the night before.

I booked somewhere else. Can I still use this?

Not for that booking; we can only transfer reservations we issued. For a booking made elsewhere, ask the hotel for a date change first, then check travel insurance or the card you paid with.
